Join the Quartet for a reimagining of Jazz Sambas and an exploration of repertoire associated with the Bossa Nova Craze of the 1960’s including music from the iconic 1964 album Getz/Gilberto with additional music by Laurindo Almeida, Antonio Carlos Jobim and Clare Fischer.

Aaron Johnson, saxophonist, clarinetist, and flutist returns to his home town for the Festival and joins other events throughout the week.

Wilbur Jensen, trumpet, and flugelhorn has long been part of Oregon’s music community as performer and mentor to countless musicians. Jensen’s musical legacy of engagement with internationally recognized bands is impressive. He performs with the Bay Area Concert Band, and the Just Jensens.

Dave Captein, bass, has been a professional musician for over 35 years in the Pacific Northwest with roots in Portland and on the South Coast.

Greg Chen, keyboard, is an award-winning New York performer and educator specializing in early 20th century jazz styles.
