The concert features 8 musicians who provide outstanding dedication to community engagement, education and musical performance.
Just Jensens are siblings from a highly musical family. Wilbur Jensen, the eldest and newest member of the quartet, began playing trumpet at age six. A distinguished soloist, he has performed with renowned orchestras and artists across genres, though jazz remains a personal favorite. Judy Jensen Snyder is a versatile wind player, who joined her father’s dance band at age 11. Proficient on clarinet, alto sax, and tenor sax, Judy took up bass clarinet for this group. Bonnie Jensen Cox, a talented flautist and piccolo player also plays piano and organ. Peggy Jensen Christensen, a lifelong clarinetist, with diverse experience in chamber orchestras, woodwind quintets, concert band and a polka band is the president of the Bay Area Concert Band.
Tree-O: Peggy Maddron, Kathleen Zappelli, & Josie Reid, vocals, with keyboard, Luanne May. The singers met in the Community Choir at Southwestern Oregon Community College under the direction of Chris Rosman – Josie, as an alto, and Kathleen and Peggy as sopranos. Josie taught Art at Marshfield HS, Kathleen was the Art teacher at Sunset Middle School who later taught English, and Peggy was an Elementary teacher in North Bend. Kathleen and Josie formed the first Tree-O group 23 years ago to perform at an annual Christmas event and have stayed together ever since. Peggy joined the group about 7 years ago. Her beautiful voice elevates the group’s harmonies and blend.
