Composers have always had a love of musical geography – capturing in sound the aura of their beloved country of origin, or another locale in which they have joyously spent time. Summer Travels is a musical voyage around the globe, a mixture of favorite popular and classical works celebrating Spain, the British Isles, Jamaica, the American Northeast, and more. Clarinet and saxophone virtuoso Aaron Johnson takes center stage for a trio of evocative songs, including the most popular of all sambas, The Girl from Ipanema. Join us for a tour of some of the world’s greatest vacation spots without leaving your seat!
