Jason Klein

This will be Jason Klein’s 17th season with the Oregon Coast Music Festival. Dr. Klein received his AB from Washington University in St. Louis and his Masters and Doctorate in Orchestral Conducting from Stanford University, where he was an NDEA Fellow. After several seasons as Music Director of the Fremont Symphony, he was a professor at the University of Utah in Salt Lake City, where he also conducted the Utah Youth Symphony and Salt Lake Symphony before relocating to the San Francisco Bay Area, serving as Music Director of the South Valley Symphony for nine seasons and conducting the prestigious California Youth Symphony. He continues his 20-year music directorship of the Youth Orchestras of Southern Alameda County and the Saratoga Symphony. Dr. Klein lives in Martinez, California, with his wife Kathleen, his father-in-law, a three-legged cat, an aging Shih-tzu, and any number of deer, wild turkeys, and other invasive creatures. He teaches instrumental music in the Mt. Diablo Unified School District and has recently guest-conducted with the Redwood Symphony, San Diego Chamber Orchestra, Suwanee Summer Music Festival in Tennessee, and Livermore-Amador Symphony.
