The Aaron Johnson Trio will perform a range of classical Jazz compositions as “Bernstein and Beyond: from west side story to Gershwin’s New York”.

Aaron Johnson is a Jazz Saxophonist, Clarinetist, and Flutist based in New York City whose music and unrelenting energy have captivated listeners and musicians. A native of Coos Bay, he began music studies with Wilbur Jensen. Johnson serves as associate principal Clarinet/Bass Clarinet with the Siletz Bay Festival Orchestra to return to the Oregon Coast.

Chuck Israels, composer, arranger, bassist is known for his work with the Bill Evans Trio and his pioneering accomplishments as Director of the National Jazz Ensemble. Israels now resides in Portland where he founded The Chuck Israels Jazz Orchestra showcasing players and vocalists in the Northwest.

Jordan Piper, piano, has a mature and melodically sound that sets him apart as a pianist and composer. Jordan began playing with local jazz groups in his hometown of Bellingham, Washington where he eventually became a protégé of jazz legend, bassist Chuck Israels.
